ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Leanne. I’ve been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for over 14 years, supporting people to eat and move in a way that supports their health, wellbeing, and identity.

SPECIALTIES

I have specialised training and experience in working with people with eating disorders and disordered eating and hold the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential.

My other specialty areas include intuitive eating for individuals and families, nutrition and mental health, size-inclusive nutrition, LGBTQIA+ nutrition, and dietetic support for neurodiversity.

I have additional training in Trauma Informed Practice, Intuitive Eating, Aboriginal Cultural Humility, Internal Family Systems Therapy for Eating Disorders, Polyvagal Theory, Narrative Therapy, and somatic therapies.

I am continually enhancing and updating my knowledge with ongoing study, training and professional supervision.

My role is to help you to improve your quality of life, while balancing your unique nutritional needs, preferences, health conditions, and lifestyle.

Complimentary Experience

In addition to my dietetic practice, I have over 12 years of experience working in the community sector in youth work, program management and community capacity building.

This has helped to inform my understanding of how trauma, marginalisation and intersectionality have long lasting impacts on health and wellbeing.

Lived Experience

I identify as queer and neurodivergent, and I’m passionate about supporting other members of these communities to receive competent and accessible health care. I have lived experience of living with and recovering from disordered eating and I understand how challenging it can be to receive repectful and person-centred support while navigating the healthcare system.

I’m a mum of two, which has given me a lot of insight into the challenges of family meal planning and raising intuitive eaters.
